This year’s Fund-A-Need will provide seed money to develop The Grand Garden at OLMC. Our goal is to design and develop a school garden using the grassy area along Grand Street. We plan to build multiple garden beds containing edible and flowering plants that will provide local habitat for monarch butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.
The implementation of a school garden will extend our commitment to STEM-integrated learning, creating a hands-on learning experience where students will have the opportunity to learn in their own living laboratory. The school garden will provide an engaging setting used for classroom field study and observations, data collection, and environmental stewardship, increasing students' affinity for core STEM disciplines and providing learning opportunities for years to come.
Help us continue to increase biodiversity, support pollinators, and beautify our campus. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to design and build The Grand Garden at OLMC. Fund-A-Need levels start at $25 to provide awareness posters to spread the word about our habitat and go up to $2,500 to build a fence that will protect our plants and habitats.
